SECURITY POLICY

 
The present policy is applied to all vessels operated by the Company, in accordance with the requirements of the International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and chapter XI-2 of the SOLAS Convention 1974 as amended.
 
Main Objectives
 
Company conscious of its responsibilities set following objectives:
 
• Pledges its commitment to the cooperation between Contracting Governments, Government Agencies, local administrations and the shipping and port industries, to respond to security threats and take preventive measures against incidents affecting ships and port facilities used for international trade,
 
• Designates Persons ashore and onboard each ship with preventive roles and responsibilities, to establish security measures and promote security awareness, throughout the Office and the managed fleet,
 
• Ensures the early and efficient collection and exchange of security related information,
 
 
• Follows the methodology provided by the ISPS code to perform ship security assessments and have in place plans and procedures to react to changing security levels,
 
• Ensures that suitable and approved security plans and measures are implemented on-board managed fleet, in compliance with ISPS code.
 
• Document all IT and OT equipment, ashore and onboard, which can become subject to electronic manipulation, and develop measures to protect such equipment from cyber security threats.
 
The Company will achieve above Objectives by:
 
• Gathering and assessing information with respect to security threats and exchanging such information with appropriate Contracting Governments,
 
• Maintaining the communication protocols required by the ISPS code,
 
• Prevention of unauthorized access on board the ship and its restricted areas,
 
• Prevention of the introduction of unauthorized weapons, incendiary devices or explosives to ships
 
• Means for raising the alarm in reaction to security threats or security incidents, onboard ships,
 
• Each ship is provided with approved security plan based upon security assessment,
 
• Training, drills and exercises are carried out onboard ships, to ensure familiarity with security plans and procedures,
 
• Training will also be carried out by the CSO or by the Marine Superintendent under the guidance of the CSO or by a Security Organization / Subcontractor,
 
• Developing the cyber security defense in three key areas: (1) establish and maintain and effective peripheral defense to isolate the Company’s network from external threats, (2) create an internal defense monitoring anomalies in the Company’s network traffic, and (3) define clear rules guiding all users as to the use of all IT / OT equipment with the view of protecting the company from Cyber threats.
 
The Company will ensure the necessary support to the Company Security Officer(s), the Master and the Ship Security Officer(s), in order to fulfill their duties and responsibilities in accordance with requirements of the ISPS Code.
 
All employees are expected to comply with the required procedures within the ship security plan and will be familiar with the relevant security duties required of them and the measures required to protect the ship from any unlawful act.
